Mens Pennant

It has been an outstanding year for Halls Head Bowling Club Men’s Pennants. With over 100 men nominating to play, in four divisions on Saturday, it was a tough job for the selectors to pick  the right teams each week. A big thanks goes to all the men who played bankers and dropped into sides at short notice.

At the end of the  Saturday home and away season, every team from 1st to 4th division made the final 4, with 2nd and 3rd division finishing top and earning promotion next season. This was the first time in the clubs history that all teams made the finals on a Saturday.

In first division, the team finished 3rd and put up a strong performance to win their semi final to beat Dudley Park 2 on Saturday morning and followed it up with a win over Mandurah in the afternoon to reach the Grand Final. Halls Head were attempting the double but the game against Dudley Park 1 at Halls Head did not go to plan and Dudley Park 1 took home the Pennant.

In second division, Red and White teams finished 1st and 4th, with Red winning their semi final against Comet Bay, progressing straight to the grand final. White were unable to match Dudley Park. Comet Bay beat Dudley Park in the afternoon and had the second chance to play Halls Head Red in the Grand Final. On Sunday, the Halls Head Red team repeated their win over Comet Bay resulting in promotion and a pennant to Halls Head Red.

Saturday Second Division Winners

Third division saw a similar outcome in the home and away season. Halls Head Red finished on top with White in third place. With both sides in the finals, Red beat Waroona to progress to the Grand Final while White were unable to overcome a strong Dudley Park side. Waroona prevailed in a tight semi final, beating Dudley Park. The grand final of third division between Waroona and Halls Head was played at Dudley Park and Halls Head Red were successful, winning all 4 rinks, the Pennant and promotion to second division.

Saturday Third Division Winners

While Halls Head made the finals in fourth position, Yunderup provided very strong opposition and went on to play in the grand final.

Tuesday Pennants

The club fielded teams in all divisions of Tuesday Pennants.  Our First Division Red finished on top of their division and went on to win the grand final and collect another Pennant.

First Division Winners

The teams in other divisions came close but missed out on finals.

Congratulations to all the Halls Heads pennant sides.
