Club Volunteers
Everyone has different skills, knowledge and experience which they have acquired throughout their life. Our club welcomes those special skills because it’s a ‘win win’ situation whereby the member makes new friendships and the club benefits.
Training
Our club provides ‘on the job training’ from current members. Also, it pays for certain training courses if members wish to attend and there is a legal requirement to do so. Thus, members don’t end up out of pocket.
Our club is extremely fortunate to have a substantial number of members from our membership of approx 500 who volunteer their services on a regular basis. There are numerous areas of club operations that volunteers can assist including ;
Bar
Covers bar serving, cleaning and stocktake experience
Club house
Our lovely clubhouse needs ongoing maintenance
Bowling greens, lawns and gardens
Covers greens maintenance and gardening
Kitchen and catering
Catering for club and private functions
Social and fund raising
Arranging our social calendar throughout the year
Bingo
Now nearly the biggest in Mandurah, held each Thursday evening
Office administration
Office, computer, accounting skill are put to good use
Club committees
Clubs don’t run by themselves, we need active committees
The club ethos is to minimize running costs and therefore membership fees through volunteers. If everyone was to volunteer just 1 hour a week our club would receive approx 500 volunteer hours weekly.
Finally, we do have an annual volunteer appreciation function where all club volunteers are provided complimentary food and refreshments and are formally thanked for their efforts during the year.
Thank you – Your help is always appreciated
